New IMAX Film |

The Stephen Low Company, a Montreal based firm specializing in large format
documentary films, will preview work from its latest IMAX® film project, Rocky Mountain Express, at the Canadian E-Tourism Awards during the Canadian
E-Tourism Strategy Conference Canada-e-Connect in Vancouver, British
Columbia on November 8.
The project is being directed
by highly acclaimed Canadian filmmaker Stephen Low, who has produced and
directed 13 IMAX films in his career. Rocky
Mountain Express will be the first ever destination IMAX film about
Canada.
“I have always wanted to tell the dramatic
story of the linking of Eastern and Western Canada, through the Rockies, by the builders of the Canadian Pacific Railroad.
Without that incredibly difficult and truly heroic feat, Canada might
never have become an independent nation,” said Low.
The film will include
spectacular visual imagery of the route from Montreal to Vancouver, but
will focus on the most breathtaking geography, the challenging route through the
Canadian Rockies from Calgary to Vancouver through Roger’s
Pass.
“On giant screens worldwide,
IMAX® audiences will
have an opportunity to experience a Canada they can only have imagined”,
said Bob Kresser, whose firm K2 Communications will co-distribute the film with
The Stephen Low Company.
The film is timed to be released to coincide with the
winter Olympics in 2010, and K2 is partnering with travel marketing specialists
Custom Marketing Group to offer Canadian tourism interests the opportunity to
take advantage of the film and the Olympics to promote travel to
Canada. An exciting marketing
package to leverage the film will be presented at the Canada-e-Connect
conference.
